A remote residential property that needed genuine off-grid capability without turning the roof into an eyesore.

A flush-mounted 15 kW PV system with a triple LFP battery stack configured for full islanding, integrated to read as part of the architecture.

Zero grid reliance during recent regional outages and 100% autonomy — the house never noticed the grid was down.

Desert Ridge sits far enough out that grid reliability is a real question, not a hypothetical. The owners wanted true independence, but they had spent a decade on the architecture and were not going to bolt a science project onto the roof.

The 15 kW array is flush-mounted with concealed conduit so it reads as part of the roofline rather than an addition to it. Behind it, a triple LFP stack is configured for whole-home islanding — when the grid drops, the transfer is seamless and the house simply keeps running.

During the last round of regional outages the estate stayed at 100% autonomy. The owners found out the grid had gone down the way everyone else's neighbors did: by hearing about it later.
